We are currently accepting applications for the DNA Microarray Training and Education Program, supported by the University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). To learn more about the program and how to apply, visit DnaMite's website.

Microarray Research Laboratory: Research Associate
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency—Ft. Meade, Maryland
Open until filled.
The successful candidate is expected to conduct research on the tools of functional genomics to understand the mechanisms involved in antimicrobial activity on pathogenic bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and Mycobacterium bovis. The candidate will independently perform cell cultivation, gene cloning, nucleic acid isolation and labeling, real-time PCR, and microarray analysis. In addition, the candidate will also participate in development of a novel cell-based fluorescence assay to rapidly and cost-effectively determine antimicrobial efficacy. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology, microbiology, bioengineering, chemical engineering or related fields as well as extensive experience in bioengineering, molecular and cell biology, and characterization of gene expression.
