On behalf of the Fischell Department of Bioengineering, we are honored to join you in kicking off the start of the 2024-2025 academic year!
This fall, we are proud to welcome 23 graduate students to our department, including several familiar faces! We are also thrilled to invite everyone back for our seventh annual EPIC Retreat (Enhancing and Promoting Interactions and Conversations) taking place on Friday, August 23rd.
Throughout the semester ahead, you’ll receive regular reminders about our Weekly BIOE Seminars—which kick off Friday, August 30th with a talk by Dr. Angela Alexander from Clemson University. You'll also receive emails about our monthly coffee hours, upcoming networking events, professional development opportunities, and more. The department consistently works with the BGSS Board and student group leaders to coordinate new in-person and virtual networking opportunities, as well as visits with nearby organizations seeking BIOE graduates for hire. Like you, we never take for granted our ability to gather together, not only in the classroom and the lab, but also through student-driven events, campus initiatives, and in joint efforts to support the wider STEM community.
This spring, our graduate program received its highest national ranking to date. We look forward to continuing to provide our students with high-quality learning experiences and research opportunities. We are excited for you to experience firsthand what makes the Fischell Department of Bioengineering unique, and we look forward to applauding your many achievements in the year ahead.
