Led by BIOE Associate Chair of Community Engagement & Development, Dr. Deborah Goldberg, the committee plans, implements and supports programs and initiatives to promote the development and engagement of all bioengineering department constituents. The committee is composed of faculty, undergraduate students, graduate students, and staff and meets monthly. The Bioengineering Community Engagement & Development Committee strives to achieve the following goals:
- Build a department community that includes students, faculty, and staff from many backgrounds and perspectives
- Facilitate access to resources, opportunities, and experiences to enable each member of the community to reach their full potential
- Create an environment that allows each person to contribute meaningfully and with respect
- Foster a culture where everyone feels welcomed, seen, heard, and valued for who they are.
