An Introduction to Cochlear Implants

Cochlear implants have achieved phenomenal success as a neural prosthesis. However, present-day devices are still limited in the amount and nature of information they transmit to the brain. In this talk, I will describe the device, its successes and limitations, and discuss the results of recent research in my laboratory.
