2nd Annual Fischell Festival to Highlight Medical Imaging

New Bioengineering Wing of Kim Building to be Dedicated

WHAT: Learn what the future holds in bioengineering and biomedical devices, and how engineers and healthcare providers can work together to achieve that future.

  • A live, streamcast medical imaging procedure from the University of Maryland School of Medicine (liver directed therapy involving imaging and therapeutic components). Patrick Malloy, M.D., Director of Interventional Radiology (surgeon) and David Widlus, M.D., Associate Professor, Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine (commentary)
  • Invited talks by Heinrich Kolem (president and CEO, Siemens Medical Solutions); Christoph Hergersberg (global technology leader, GE Global Research Biosciences division); David Fischell (CEO, Angel Medical Systems); Robert E. Fischell (medical device inventor and entrepreneur)
  • Dedication of the new bioengineering wing of the Jeong H. Kim Engineering Building

WHO: The Fischell Department of Bioengineering (Clark School of Engineering, University of Maryland, College Park), has invited industry and academic experts, engineering students and entrepreneurs to showcase the latest technologies and insights in the fields of biotechnology and bioengineering.
