Below are tips for printing your research poster. Please visit the Engineering Copy Center website for more information.

.)    You should plan to print one unmounted poster. (Boards, easels and thumb tacks will be provided for you on April 29th when you arrive at the Zupnik Forum in A. James Clark Hall).

.)    Your posters must be 40x30” (or 30x40” if you prefer portrait orientation) in order to fit the foam boards provided. If you are not using a provided template, please design your posters at this size by using your Page Setup or Document Setup settings. If you have an existing regular slide that you are adapting, scale up its elements, but make sure placed images have sufficient resolution, or they may be blurry.

.)   Windows users may submit a PDF or PowerPoint file to the Engineering Copy Center. Mac users should submit a PDF (Choose File>Print>Save as PDF). For compatibility reasons, it is especially important that Mac users create and save their files at the exact printed size. Open and check your PDF in Adobe Reader or Preview to make sure it has not been resized to fit a small page.

.)    How to name your file: Your filename should include a name and phone number, so you can be contacted if there are problems and when your poster is ready. Example: tomlinson-alyssa-3014053936.pdf

.)    Bring your files to the Copy Center or follow the online instructions for submission: http://www.copycenter.umd.edu/request/

.)    The Copy Center is very busy in April and May. Submit your files ASAP, and no later than April 22nd.
