WHAT: Learn what the future holds in bioengineering and biomedical devices, and how engineers and healthcare providers can work together to expand and enhance the capabilities of physicians, dentists, pharmacists and a myriad of other health care providers—and ultimately to improve life for people around the world.
Events include:
- a live telesurgery demonstration from the University of Maryland School of Medicine (laparoscopic [video-guided] Nissen fundoplication)
- invited talks student posters
- lab tours
- a career information session featuring leading Maryland biotech companies.
WHO: The Fischell Department of Bioengineering (Clark School of Engineering, University of Maryland, College Park), has invited industry and academic experts, engineering students and entrepreneurs to showcase the latest technologies and insights in the fields of biotechnology and bioengineering.
