The 2020 Bioengineering Spring Networking event will take place on  Monday, April 20th, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the A. James Clark Hall Forum (Room 1101) at the University of Maryland, College Park campus. This free event will include hors d'oeuvres and refreshments, and will feature guest speakers as well as opportunities to network with industry/government representatives, as well as BIOE alumni, students, faculty, and staff. Attire for this event is business casual. Guests are welcome.

BMES-UMD Award of Excellence

This event will also honor the first-ever recipient of the BMES-UMD Award of Excellence. Applications are invited until April 6th. More information is available.

Location & Directions

A. James Clark Hall is located at 8278 Paint Branch Drive, College Park, MD, 20742. Visitor parking information is availabe online. The nearest visitor parking lot is the Xfinity Visitor Lot. Please make note of any parking signage regarding restrictions/meter rates as parking is strictly enforced. 

Clark Hall is also accessible by public transportation. Those arriving by Metro should disembark at the College Park-UMD Metro Station (Green/Yellow Lines) and walk to the University of Maryland shuttle stop along River Road. Board Shuttle #104 and disembark at the Wind Tunnel stop, located a short walk from Clark Hall along Paint Branch Drive.

BMES-UMD Award of Excellence

The University of Maryland Chapter of the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES-UMD) has established an Award of Excellence to recognize an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the STEM fields.
 
The ideal candidate will have contributed a significant body of work in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics fields, and/or have demonstrated dedication to STEM outreach and education initiatives. Candidates can apply directly or be nominated by an individual familiar with their work. Candidates do not need to be a University of Maryland or bioengineering alum.
 
The winner of the 2020 BMES-UMD Award of Excellence will be recognized during the 2020 Bioengineering Spring Networking event on Monday, April 20th. Please email Alyssa Tomlinson with any questions.
